Ear infection

Well yesterday Madison came down with a fever of 102! I could tell she just wasn't her self, and she wasn't napping well during the day. She just got worse during the night, and being really fussy. David and I switched off and on during the night getting up to be with her. She was waking up every half an hour to every hour because she didn't feel good. So I took her to the doctor today and she has a ear infection! Not what I was hoping for. Anyways we have decided not to give her any antibiotics and to let the body run its course. I know that the fever is a good thing and that it's just trying to kill the infection. I was told about using some garlic oil drops for her ears to help the infection go away. A natural way of treating it, which I like. So I hope this works! The hope is that she will be all better by Monday, which is when I have to take her back to the doctors office to make sure she's good to go. So please be praying for her, and that we all get some sleep tonight!

New recipes

Ok so I branched out and made a Chicken Curry dish tonight! It was fabulous! If you like India food, such as curry and spicy food, you will love this one! I did Green Curry paste instead and heated it with the oil garlic and onion for 5-10 mins. I also added some crushed red peppers and paprika for some heat, but i really don't think it need it! It was plenty HOT! I added some cauliflower for a veggie, and I also did not put the sugar in because I didn't even see it when i was reading the directions lol. I did add some curry powder in the middle of cooking to give it more curry flavor. I used jasmine rice to serve with it. David and my mom both loved it, so I thought I would share.

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

* 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1/2-inch chunks
* 1 teaspoon salt and pepper, or to taste
* 1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
* 2 tablespoons curry powder
* 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
* 2 cloves garlic, crushed
* 1 (14 ounce) can coconut milk
* 1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed, diced tomatoes
* 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
* 3 tablespoons sugar

DIRECTIONS

1. Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
2. Heat oil and curry powder in a large skillet over medium-high heat for two minutes. Stir in onions and garlic, and cook 1 minute more. Add chicken, tossing lightly to coat with curry oil. Reduce heat to medium, and cook for 7 to 10 minutes, or until chicken is no longer pink in center and juices run clear.
3. Pour coconut milk, tomatoes, tomato sauce, and sugar into the pan, and stir to combine. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, approximately 30 to 40 minutes.

For dessert I made Big soft Ginger Cookies. I did not have the cloves so left that one out, but I did add some vanilla to my second batch. Enjoy everyone!

INGREDIENTS

* 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
* 2 teaspoons ground ginger
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 3/4 cup margarine, softened
* 1 cup white sugar
* 1 egg
* 1 tablespoon water
* 1/4 cup molasses
* 2 tablespoons white sugar

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Sift together the flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt. Set aside.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the margarine and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, then stir in the water and molasses. Gradually stir the sifted ingredients into the molasses mixture. Shape dough into walnut sized balls, and roll them in the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar. Place the cookies 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet, and flatten slightly.
3. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.

Walking!

My child is now walking! She still falls here and there, but if nothing is in her way shes good to go. I can't believe her one year old birthday is right around the corner! Crazy!!!

We are still working on the sleeping thing. She's been waking up at different times each night such as,2, 6, 6:45, and the best yet was 7:45! Granted it's only about twice during the night, but these are the random times I can expect her to be calling me from her crib. I can't wait till she goes to sleep from 7:30PM-8:00AM! I keep crossing my fingers that it will happen again soon! I am thankful that I can put her down awake and she will fall asleep on her own with out crying, most of the time.

She has been having so much fun with Ruby, the little girl I watch. Right when she gets here, Madison starts to get all excited to play with her. They play so well together. I love watching them interact with each other. It's also nice for her to have a little playmate during the day. They just follow each other around the house playing with different things.

I am working on learning how to edit my photos that I have been taking with my new camera. We have taken so many pictures, it's hard to know what ones to keep and what ones to get rid of. I don't have a lot of time during the day to spend on the computer right now because someone else is demanding my attention! She hates it when I am on the computer because she wants to play with the screen and hit the key board making it impossible for me to do anything. So night time is the only time I have to myself. That's about it for now. I am going to enjoy the peacefulness!

XSI Rebel

Can I just say how much I LOVE my husband! I have been wanting to purchase a nice camera such as the Cannon Rebel. So David said start saving up for it and then we can get it. So we started saving money from babysitting and my Boodle Bum sales, and saving here and there. We were able to find a great deal from Circuit City, because they are going out of business and all. So my hubby said lets get it! I am so excited and thrilled to have this camera. I know I am going to capture great moments with Madison and for friends and family. So let the fun begin! And Emily if you ever need a 3rd shooter! Thanks to Emily and Renae for inspiring me to buy this great camera!

Tired

The past few weeks I have been feeling so tired. Madison tends to wake up at least once in the middle of the night. Once in a while she will sleep through the night a couple days in a row, making me think hey maybe shes over that.....but no! She has been sick for about a week now, with a non stop runny nose. On top of that she's still teething, so her shirt is just soaked all the time. I thought she might have caught pink eye, because the neighbor kids had it, but I think shes good. I can't wait for the runny nose to stop. She thinks that I am trying to kill her when I use the sucker to clear her nose out. Poor girl, I'm only trying to help her breath!

I worked yesterday, and the mall was busy, but sales were slow for me.:( I am also going to be working next weekend for Valentines day. Hopefully business will pick up!

I think today David and I might go see a movie this afternoon while Madison takes a nap at Grandmas house. I need some time with my hubby. I want to also go check out the baby sale at Old Navy. Until next time :)

New words

So I just had to document that Madison said bye-bye to my mom today when she left! She has been saying momma as well and associating me with the name! She says dada but I'm not so sure she knows it's David although he would agree that she does. She also says Duck, because she loves loves her duck. So David taught her the word. It's so fun to watch her get older and do new things. She took 6 steps today as well! She was in the middle of our living room and walk to the couch! Such a big girl. It is so amazing the love that I have for this little girl, just indescribable!

I was able to finish another cart cover today, Woohoo!!!!!! This girl was referred me to me by someone I know. I am keeping pretty busy, there always at least one thing I am working on, granted it may take me a month to get it finished! I still have one more to complete and also a nursing cover. I am also making burp cloths for those of you who didn't know that. I will have to post pictures on here soon.

Its a Love month

Today is one of those days that I love. The weather is windy and drizzly with dark clouds coming our way, making it very gloomy out side. It makes me just want to curl up on the couch with a blanket and and stay there all day. On the other hand it makes me want to be out and about in it, spending time with David.

The last couple of days David and I haven't seen eye to eye on some things, putting a lot of tension between us. My point in saying this is, its amazing how a little tiff can fuel the fire in a relationship when its all over and the "I'm Sorry" is said. I even got I love you flowers! I love love love getting flowers. So I decided to make today a pretty day. Look good for my hubby. I put all the make-up on and did the hair and got dressed. Now hopefully when he gets home we actually go out and make it worth my while getting ready.

The other day I got a pedicure with Michelle to celebrate her birthday! It was so fun, probably the most enjoyable pedicure I have ever had. Not to mention the best! The guy massaged me legs so good, and they took their time doing it. Most of the time they rush through because they have other people to do, but it was about an hour long! This was Michelle's first one and I am glad to be the one to take her! I love having pretty toes!!!!!

Short visit

So my good friend Tiffany called me two days ago and say I will be there Sunday! Unfortunately the reason she is coming is that her 20 year old cousin died in a motorcycle accident. Yesterday David and I drove down to Sac to pick her and her brother up from the Airport. It was a nice to have a little time in the car with David. We went to babiesRus to buy a new big girl car seat for Madison. It was a fun quick little shopping trip all by our selves. Thanks to Grandma for watching Madison for us.
While Tiffany and Kanon were here they went to Bethel on Sunday night to get prayer for her brother Clark who has been battling leukemia. Please pray for his healing!!! This was a very short trip so she had to leave today and go back to Sac for the funeral. But I am so glad that I was able to see Evening while she is still little and 6 weeks old! I will be flying out to see her next month, so it will be fun to see all the changes!
